DAYTONA BEACH, FL (August 16, 2011) - The Daytona State College School of Music, Entertainment and Art will soon hold auditions for the theatrical productions Almost, Maine and Reasons to be Pretty.
Almost, Maine, a hit comedy by John Cariani, takes place in the fictional town of Almost, Maine. As the northern lights hover in the star-filled sky, the residents of Almost find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and hilarious ways.
Neil Labute’s Reasons to be Pretty is the story about the improbability of love. This new work explores the relationship of Steph and Greg, who find themselves in a hopelessly romantic drama about the hopelessness of romance.
Joint auditions will be held on the Daytona Beach Campus, Goddard Performance Hall (bldg. 230), on Wednesday, Aug. 31, from 6 to 10 p.m., and Thursday, Sept. 1 from 6 to 10 p.m.
Come prepared to improvise and do cold readings. For more information please contact Geoffrey Kershner at (386) 506-4607.
Production dates for Almost, Maine are Oct. 19 – 23 and for Reasons to be Pretty are Nov. 16 - 20.
Tickets will be available beginning Oct. 5 by calling (386) 226-1927.
