Human Patient Simulator (HPS) Lab

Simulation is rapidly becoming a vital part of health care and medical education. It is a solution for training multiple competencies simultaneously, in a controlled environment, at multiple levels throughout the various programs. It is a dynamic teaching/learning tool that makes many aspects of health care education both challenging and exciting. Simulation allows us to bridge the gap between the classroom and the “real life” clinical experience. Simulation challenges the student to make critical decisions and witness the results of those decisions with out risk to patient safety. Daytona State College has three (3) adult simulators, one (1) pediatric simulator and one (1) infant simulator housed in the HPS Lab in Bldg 320, room 447.

Mission Statement

The Human Patient Simulator (HPS) Lab uses a wide range of simulation methods to educate the students enrolled in Daytona State College’s health care programs. The HPS Lab provides effective patient centered care under the direction of the various program instructors and the HPS lab simulation experts.
